Rutte confirms Ukraine’s irreversible path to NATO

NATO declaration to mention Ukraine’s path to the Alliance
“Important decisions on Ukraine are coming, building on Washington, where last year’s summit was held,” the head of the Alliance said.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that the final declaration of the Alliance summit in The Hague will contain important wording on support for Ukraine. At the same time, details of the document are not being disclosed at this time. He announced this during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on the sidelines of the summit on Tuesday, June 24.

“Before the summit, where important decisions on Ukraine will be made, it is worth noting that it is based on the results of last year’s summit in Washington, where Ukraine’s irreversible path to NATO was determined. We are now building this bridge,” Rutte said.

He recalled that European and Canadian allies have already promised to provide more than 35 billion euros in support of Ukraine. According to him, this amount may be even higher by the end of the year.

“Of course, I cannot disclose anything about the summit declaration, but we can safely assume that the summit declaration will talk about Ukraine and support for Ukraine, including financial support, in the future,” the NATO Secretary General added.

We will remind, today the head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak held a conversation with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The parties discussed preparations for Zelensky with Trump.
